What you will learn
At LifeDock, we have years of experience delivering physical activity programmes for older adults, individuals with limited mobility and those with disabilities. One key lesson we have learned is that one size does not fit all! Teaching a chair-based exercise session in a care home is very different from instructing participants in a leisure centre. In a care home, many residents may have very limited mobility and additional conditions, such as dementia, which can greatly affect their ability to move and engage.
In contrast, a chair-based exercise session in a leisure centre typically includes participants who have arrived by walking, driving or using public transport. This group is generally more capable of following instructions, participating in structured exercises and demonstrating a degree of motivation, as they have chosen to be there. You will learn how to deliver ChairTastic! sessions in one of three engaging formats: ChairTastic! Fun, ChairTastic! Functional and ChairTastic! Fusion.

You will have your own dedicated tutor to guide and support you as you learn. As an accredited training centre with an ‘excellent’ EQA rating, we guarantee quality support and feedback on all assessments. Plus, as a Lifedock Leader, you’ll enjoy ongoing support with access to video tutorials even after your training is complete.
