Chi Me is a series of tai chi influenced movements which allows your particpants to experience the many benefits of tai chi. Just 20 hours of learning will equip you to teach this programme of simplified tai chi movements! This is your opportunity to promote strength, balance and create a wonderful sense of wellbeing!
  2. A dedicated course tutor… We believe you should be equipped to provide the best experience for the people you support. This is why you will have your own personal tutor who will support, guide and teach you how to deliver Chi Me safely, effectively and with correct and authentic technique.
  3. Quality assurance…We are an accredited OCN training centre, with an unbroken 20 year, ‘excellent’ EQA (External Quality Assurance) rating. This means your tutor will provide support and feedback on both practical and written assessments to ensure you become an excellent Chi Me leader!
  4. Accessibility… Online, On Zoom or In person – choose your preferred choice of learning format.
  5. Ongoing support… As a LifeDock Leader you will continue to have access to video tutorials on the LifeDock Learning platform and ongoing tutor support once training is completed.

This training is a must if you work or volunteer in a residential homes, supported housing, leisure centres, community outreach programmes and charitable organisations.


Course content...

  • Recognise the effects of inactivity and the benefits of physical activity
  • Know how to develop a safe and effective Chi Me session
  • Understand the importance of effective screening and Health and Safety procedures related to a Chi Me session
  • The importance of posture and alignment
  • Identify the joints and how they are mobilised at the start of the session
  • Understand principles of tai chi movement
  • Learn 8 Chi Me movements*Assessment is by tutor observation for In Person training and video or a Zoom call for online and Zoom training.  A written assignment is also required.

Online course requirements
To gain certification you must:

  • Complete the online course materials
  • Complete a written assignment
  • Teach a short Chi Me session (10 minutes) with your tutor on a Zoom call.

You are entitle to three Zoom or telephone tutorials with your tutor who will help and guide you through the course.
